Photos from St.Augustine

Saturday, May 23, 2009 (00:27:04)
Just finished up going through all the photos from our recent trip to St.Augustine Florida. We had such a great time relaxing on the beach and just enjoying one another's company. If you click the smaller version of the photos it will bring up a large version if you want to use any for wallpapers or just to have. Enjoy!

4 Days of Photos

Sunday, October 19, 2008 (22:54:18)

I've had a 4 day backlog of photos to post so I figured it was about time I get to it.

More studio work

Sunday, July 20, 2008 (17:01:05)
Dana and I have been keeping ourselves quite busy lately. Between me working at Continental, and her taking graduate classes, we've added more studio photography sessions to the list. I've posted all of the images on my site KevinPatrickPhotography.com, but here are a few of my favorites.

Check in next week for another wedding post, as well as a special photo shoot which we will be flying to Cincinnati for a beautiful little girls first birthday.

Open for business.

It's been a bit slow around this website lately... eerily slow. Anywho!

I've officially setup a photo website I have been considering for a while now: www.KevinPatrickPhotography.com . It is a bit of a work in progress, but as of last night I was able to post my first photo shoot. Brack and Lindsay are expecting a baby girl in less then 2 months now, and were looking to get some portraits done. I have to admit they were an easy couple to photograph, and with Dana helping me out it was a breeze. So keep your eyes out for more photo shoot entries on the site. I'm hoping business picks up with time, at least enough to subsidize our skyrocketing fuel costs...

First shots in the "in home photo studio"

Sunday, June 01, 2008 (22:53:43)
I've completed the basic steps in putting together my own photo studio in the house, which will give me a great opportunity for practicing on a regular basis. All of the photos so far have been with the white muslin background Dana and I made yesterday using a 10'x12' sheet of fabric, a 10' pvc pipe and some hemming tape which you iron to glue the fabric together. Turned out great, and it worked well for the photos.

The black back drop I made, on the other hand, turned out to be an adventure of it's own. I was unable to locate a black muslin sheet in the dimensions I needed, so instead decided to get another white one, and dye it black on my own. BIG MISTAKE. Well the idea wasn't the mistake, it was more due to the 7 packages of black dye I thought i needed to color the entire sheet. I won't get into details, but that stuff doesn't come out of carpet at all... Anyways, here are the first photos of my lovely wife, and of course lil miss Roxanna showing off.

(Dana's Disclaimer: "I am not naked in any of the photos...")

Off to the races.

So my wife of 7 months 4 days left Texas for a week with her family in NY early this morning. In attempt to occupy myself I took one of my friends from work (Greg) on the offer to come watch him race at a track no more then a half mile from the airport. It was a great time seeing all the different cars race around the track, and even the occasional wipe-out. It gave me a chance to practice more with the camera, and one gentleman there let me borrow a few of his Canon IS lenses to try them out.

HDR Photoraphy!!

Thursday, May 01, 2008 (22:54:52)
Ok, probably not too exciting for everyone else, but I've become addicted to a new form of photography/editing called HDR (High Dynamic Range). Below are a few examples (before and after) of the effect it gives a regular photo. It takes a bit more work but it is worth it for a decent shot. I passed the software and info on to Jay earlier today so hope to see some of his work posted too.

Those clouds were actually there, you just can't see them in the original.

It's fixin' to get hot in Texas!

Spring has sprung in Houston... well, I lie, it sprang about a month or 2 ago. Either way I wanted to share a photo we took the other day of the azaleas in front of our house before they all die off and become normal looking bushes again. It's a bit pink to say the least, but I am far from attempting to prove manlyhood to our neighbors by the color of flowers in front of the house. (I do that by the greenness of my grass)
