02/15/08: Love is in the air.
Our first Valentines Day as a married couple, and it was perfect. Being that we live in Houston, we decided to stay in and cook up a delicious shrimp meal, turn on romantic music, and light some candles. We decided a trip to Playa del Carmen in May would be our gift to one another... and neither of us can wait! Let the countdown begin :)
Other than that, Continental Airlines distributed our profit sharing checks today! We ended up splitting $159 million between all the management and below employees. It was quite the celebration, and they even served pie... c;mon... what's better than pie?
02/01/08: Traveling in style
Well it looks like Mrs. Dana Sheehan will have some new luggage for our trip to Minnesota next weekend thanks to her amazing husband who isn't writing this... and he didn't need spell check to correctly spell Minnesota either. 4 photos here.
01/27/08:Houston Car Show
So I went over to the Houston Car show with James and his son Kyle on Saturday. I ended up picking up a Jaguar and James decided on the Masarati. Kyle was going to hold off until they came with the new Gallardo model next year :) Anyway, here are some photos of the car show, and a few random ones (including one of princess Chloe).
01/22/08: Got my wife back!
Yes, Dana is back in town after her trip to Cincinnati for our beautiful niece's baptism. This means I have my model back for photographs (Roxy was sick of getting her picture taken). My Mom had her 41st birthday on Sunday!! Way to go Mom! Can't wait to see you guys next month.
Speaking of photography, I think it's only right I share some of the pictures I (and Dana) have been taking. Click here to view!
01/13/08: Brazos Bend Park
Quick update- We went on a day trip to Brazos Bend park here in TX. It's basically a swamp-like nature trail you can walk for miles and miles on. Gators galore, and I'm talkin big ones that are 10 feet away from you on the walk. I took some photos with my polarizing filter on the Canon... and am learning as I go. I just ordered a new 50mm f1.4 lens in attempt to get better depth of field control. I have been a bit inspired by the wedding photos Joe and JP Elario took for us. I will probably never be as consistant as they are with quality photos, but they have a style I would love to attempt. Anyway, here are some pictures.
01/10/08: My Wife Rocks!
Ok, I'll start off by saying Happy New Year to everyone. We rang in the new year with Brack, Lindsay, Casey and Christina this time around. I don't think I will ever get used to watching the ball drop in NYC at 11pm... but they replay it on some channels to make it better. Anyway!
I'm sure you're wondering why I titled this "My Wife Rocks"... well, if you don't know why then you most likely don't know her yet. On top of her kickass DDR skills, and Trump-like finger pointing, she just last week bought me a Canon Rebel XTi (D400) SLR Camera kit! Google it if you don't know what it is, but all I need to say is I have my old hobby of Photography back! She knows me all too well, and went all out with this extremely early B-day gift. She figures it will work out well for her too because she will have much more, and better quality scrap booking photographs. We went for a walk with the dog tonight instead of the gym, and I brought my new toy along. See the images here.
12/30/07: Holidays
Wow, the last month has flown by. We went home for the holidays again this year and had a great time seeing everyone again. It was sad going back to Texas, but it had to happen at some point I guess, and our puppy would have gone crazy if we didn't (More crazy then she already is). I'm going to keep this short today due to the fact that we are catching up on chores around the house before work starts back up again. Miss you all already!

11/04/07: China galore
Just a quick update with some photos of all the new China filling up our China Cabinet. Dana is in decoration heaven, and right around the corner is Christmas! Other then that, we got to go to the Houston Rockets opening night with our friends Cari and Andy. The seats were amazing! We were right behind Yao Ming's Mom and Dad no less :)
10/20/07: Mr and Mrs Sheehan
It's true, we have begun a new chapter in our lives! And a new chapter in this website. I cleared out all the older stuff and started new... anyway, We had the most amazing wedding we could ever have asked for on October 14th, and we can't thank everyone enough for making it what it was. We have the most amazing parents, and there truly are no words to express how we feel about them. A dream became a reality for both of us, and now we are so excited to build onto our family, and enjoy the rest of our lives together.
The wedding itself was held at Holy Trinity in Cohoes NY. Our family and friends alike truly showed us how lucky we are. Both Caroline and Uncle Anthony sang so beautifully. I imagined they would have good voices, offering to sing and all, but I was blown away to really hear just how great they sounded. Uncle Anthony also made it even more special by writing the song he sang, and nearly brought both Dana and myself to tears. Rob, Sara, Uncle John and Uncle Dick all did a reading for us. Our groomsmen Joe, Rob, and Jason... and Bridesmaids Sara, Jen, and Tracy kept things together and certainly kept the party going. Shelby and Colby Carusone were by far the cutest flower girl and ring bearer I have ever seen. They did a great job, and certainly earned that piece of candy at the end of the aisle. Only a few of our Joe Elario wedding photos are up, and they are the only ones we have seen. They are AMAZING, and we cant wait to see the rest!! I could go on and on about how great it was, but I just got back from the honeymoon today, and think I can let the pictures do the talking.

Now off to Puerto Vallarta for the Honeymoon!! We picked a resort called the Vallarta Palace, and couldn't be happier with the place. They treat you like a king and queen, especially going there as a newlywed. We were greeted at the lobby entrance with 2 glasses of champagne and a couple of cold towels (being that it was so hot out). They checked us in, gave Dana a flower and sent us on our way. Dinners were spectacular. The first night I got a plate of lobster, crab, oysters, muscles, clams, and shrimp... followed up by a filet mignon, and finally a dessert which I cannot remember mostly because we had so many damn desserts while we were there. We took some time to explore the beach, and upon returning to the room found a bottle of champagne next to the hot tub, and chocolates laid out next to the bed.
One of the tours we signed up for was to a town called Yalapa. Our tour guide Pepe was a riot, and kept us entertained the whole way. We first stopped to do some snorkeling somewhere in the bay. The fish were so colorful and weren't really scared of you. After an hour or so of snorkeling they served us lunch on the boat and headed to Yalapa. The town itself can only be reached via boat, so there are no cars, or streets for that matter. They just got electricity 3 years ago, so it was quite the experience. This small Mexican town in the middle of the rain forest in Vallarta. Amazing. We stayed there for a few hours, hiked to the waterfalls, then headed back down to the beach for some relaxation before leaving. It was a long day, but well worth the experience.
As much fun as touring the island was, I think both of us enjoyed just relaxing on the beach and by the pool on Thursday the most. It was such a beautiful day to sit back and read, or in Dana's case do homework... Either way, it doesn't seem like work when you have Vallarta natives bringing you drinks the whole day long. We even got some great shots of the sunset that day. Vallarta was made for honeymooners.
One of the other days we decided to take a tour of downtown Vallarta. We got to experience the flea market, and being that the #1 money maker in that town is tourism, they are quite the sales people. We were brought to the nicest jewelry store in town, and Dana picked out a beautiful Mexican Fire Opal ring, while I was served more Margaritas. They know how to break a man down. Speaking of which, we then took the tour up into the mountains to a Tequila Factory where they have a taste testing tour. The tour got a bit looser after that stop to say the least, and we picked up some authentic blue agave tequila to bring home.
I will update soon I am sure when we have videos and more photos to share. For now I am going to sit back and relax with my beautiful wife... and enjoy another quiet night before we pick up our long lost puppy tomorrow. Thanks again everyone, it was more then we could have ever asked for.
