09/10/07:Define lazy
Its been FOREVER since I posted anything on here, I know... And yes, you know what I am going to say. "We've been busy", and you my friend are correct. We just got back from a whirlwind trip to upstate NY yesterday, and can officially say that we have the majority of the wedding planning out of the way. There is only 34 days left, and I know I am probably shooting myself in the foot by saying "most of it is out of the way" but it is what we like to call wishful thinking... or optimism...
Anyway! I wanted to share some pictures of the most adorable flower girl and ring bearer in the history of the two. Click here for pics of Shelby and Colby!
07/24/07: Showers, Babies, and a new TV
There is no way I can sum up everything that has been going on in our lives lately... but I can always try!
Sooo Dana flew back to NY for her Bachelorette party, along with a wonderful shower the brides maids and both our mothers threw for her. She came back with so many gifts I don't even know where to start, so I won't. Since she has been back we've been keeping busy betweek work and working out. Roxy has an alter ego now called "Banannas" and she comes out at the most random times. We sold my monster 62" projection TV for a new Philips 42" ambilight plasma, and a new entertainment cabinet to boot. It looks like a whole new living room now without that eyesore in here. And to top all this off, Dana's sister in law Caroline went to the hospital as of 3 hours ago because her water broke! That's right, within 2 days Miss Dana should be transforming into Aunt Dana!! Rob will be Dad, Caroline will be a mom... and we won't even get into "Grandma" and "Grandpa"!! So yes, still tons of stuff going on around here, and we love it. Both of us can't wait to get home and see our parents again... hopefully sooner then later :) I'll put up a few pictures HERE for y'all to go thru.
07/02/07: Weddings, and killer spiders
Adding to the excitement of our wedding in October, we had the chance to go to our friends Cari and Andy's wedding in Galveston recently. It was at a beautiful hotel called the Galvez right across the street from the beach on the gulf of Mexico. We had a great time and got a lot of dancing in with everybody there... including Grandma. Here are a few pictures from their beautiful day.
Other then that, we've been keeping up with the schedule of 5 days a week at the gym and seeing improvements. I sure was glad I've been keeping fit the other day when we had a black widow spider on our fence in the back yard. Granted, I didn't really do much more then spray it from 5 yards away and watch it roll over and die... but it was still a battle in my mind. Apparently they aren't that common in the Houston area so we just got lucky.
06/16/07: Whittling furniture 101
Back in January, Dana and I went shopping for dining room furniture. We happened to stop into a local Houston furniture store called "Fingers". Upon browsing merchandise, we came across a great dining set of table, chairs, and china cabinet. We deliberated, and ended up deciding to make the purchase... mind you this was January 07. We were told it was going to take a couple months to get, due to the fact it had been backordered. We were fine with that, we just bought the house and wanted to paint before putting furniture in, so it worked out well. Now fast forward 2 months, I contact Fingers to setup delivery only to find it has been pushed back until April. Upset, and a bit apprehensive, we accept it and go on with our lives. Fast forward to April... same thing..."Call back in May, it should be in then"... Same thing May 1st, only this time we're told May 30th it will be in. The straw had broken the camels back. I have a friend at work, Rob, who is a nightmare for any company who lacks decent customer service. He gladly took on my case under the alias "The Texas Hammer". To make a long story short, the furniture delivery was pushed all the way back until this past wednesday, 6/13/07. Within this time Rob was able to get $400 taken off the total cost we were being charged which is nice and all but it doesn't excuse the terrible service provided by Fingers. The delivery people showed up Wednesday for a 5:00pm delivery, at 10:30pm. Not only ridiculously late, but with half of the furniture. I am then told "The rest will be delivered on a truck tomorrow", and that I "Will receive a call from someone". The next day, guess what... no call! So I call them naturally, and again am told the delivery will be out today, but nobody knows what time, but I will get a call. So we wait, put off going to the gym, and wait, put off going anywhere... just wait. 7:30pm we get a call from Fingers Furniture, stating "We're sorry but we wont be getting your delivery out to you tonight... Does Saturday work for you. Flames shot out of my ears I believe... After speaking with the vice president of something at Fingers Furniture in Houston Tx, and he removed another $100 for a total of $500... the furniture has been delivered. Below are pictures of the furniture, which Rob once asked the Senior Manager of Fingers Furniture in Houston "the must have some guy out in the woods whittling with a spoon and butter knife". And if you are wondering why I keep stating "in Houston Tx" after I say "Fingers Furniture"... Google seems to find my site a lot. Enough said.

05/28/07: Rainy days
It has been raining here in Houston for about a week or so now and there is no end in sight. The main issue with this is that Houston is at sea level, and extremely flat. No flooding where we are, and we hope it stays that way. We've been keeping busy regardless of the weather naturally. Here are a few things occupying our time:
1) The accident prone Roxy ate a bee... Click here for the result.
2) We've decorated a bit more, not bad for 4 months if ya ask me! Click here for the vid.
3) Roxy had a modeling session for Polo. Click for pics.
Ok, I guess those don't make it seem like we've been productive, not really much work. But as we all know, all work and no play... simply would suck.
05/17/07: "We just got done eating cake!"
I think this is a record of some sort. Almost a full month with no post!? Unheard of I say! I would love to say I have been too busy to do anything with the site but that just isn't the case to be honest. I spend so much time analyzing servers and technological issues at work that honestly, the last thing I want to do when I come home is go on a computer. So tonight I got motivated after taking the dog for a walk around the neighborhood to post a video or 2!
So we made another trip to upstate NY, this time for some record pace wedding planning. We checked out linen, tested/picked out cake, picked out tuxedos, spoke with the priest and visited the church, updated the florist, and spend some QT with the family. I could have saved myself a ton of time just by having you watch the video below, but this is my time to waste :)
Other then that, we are still decorating the house. We visited IKEA, which neither of us have ever been to but found out how dangerous it can be. And yes, naturally I have another video for that.
04/22/07: Episode 1
So we got a video camera and decided to make the best of it... Here is episode 1!
04/09/07: What a great suprise!
So here is the story... Jason turned 30 this year, and in order to celebrate Sara decided to take him to Orlando over the weekend to visit the Disney parks and get away for a bit. Little did Jason know that myself, Dana, Mom and Dad Sheehan, Mom and Dad Mitchell, Uncle Dick and Aunt Shana, Aunt Marilyn, Melissa, and Grandma P were going to be there too! It turned out to be a perfect suprise and it was great to spend some time with the family again. Dana and I both came back with one heck of a sunburn, and are still peeling from it.
Roxy was happy to have us back of course. She is turning out to be one heck of a smart puppy. She allready knows to go to the bathroom outside, she knows her name, how to "sit", to go in her crate when we say "Go to bed", and to go to her pillow in the living room when we say "Go to your seat". Every day it seems she learns something new.
Here are some pictures from the trip to Florida, as well as a couple from Dana's birthday... but only a few because she ended up getting quite sick that weekend. But it was still nice being that we were able to have her parents fly in to spend the weekend with us.

03/16/07:Quickie
Being that it is so nice outside, I'm not going to spend much time writing in this update... but regarless I do need to include one amazingly important piece of information... Ms Dana Razzano, the future Mrs Dana Sheehan, has officially been accepted into the masters program at University of Houston!!!!!! We are both so excited, and I couldn't be more proud of her. The program is extremely tough to get into and with perseverance and desire, she was met with success! Tonight we will be celebrating not only St.Pattys day, but Dana and her good news!
Here are some random images from recently. Some of our bird feeder, the new office (painted), the new office furniture, pics from the Rodeo, and the Beyonce concert too. Click here to view.
03/11/07: DST came and gone
Looks like we were able to make it through the DST change at Continental without any major fallouts ... lets see what else President Bush can throw at us.
Dana and I spent the weekend on the go as usual. We went to about 4 or 5 furniture store on Saturday looking for office furniture and ended up with some really nice stuff. Also picked up a couple lamps for the furniture we are still waiting on delivery for. At the end of it all we were both exhausted and collapsed on the floor. Sunday was spent painting the office. Yes, you heard right... we painted ANOTHER ROOM. I seriously dont want to see anything faintly resembling a painting tool of any sort. But to be honest it came out quite nice. I will try to get pictures up soon. We also hung up a chandelier in the newly painted office. So to date I have put up a ceiling fan, a chandelier, and a dome light. I am slowly becoming quite comfortable with tools. My next project is going to be installing recessed speakers in some rooms with a central zone control. It should be fun!
03/04/07: San Antonio.. We'll be back
Dana and I just got back from a trip to San Antonio Tx for the weekend, and I have to say it was amazing. We needed a relaxing trip and it didn't dissapoint at all. Of course, my travel companion made the trip so much better. And as I said, we will certainly be making a trip back there.
We started off visiting an area called Market squate, which is basically about 40 Mexican shops with items from $2000 jewelry to $1 trinkets. We probably stopped in about 15 different places, and ended up picking up a few things. Dana found a nice blanket to go in the office, once it is done being painted... Next we went over to the Alamo for a bit of history. It was great to see in person and walk all thru the property. Next we went to the Riverwalk for a Boat tour around the area. For those of you who don't know that the Riverwalk is, it is a tourists dream, and more or less miles and miles of this. Stores, Bars, Nightclubs and Restaurants galore. A very laid back, relaxing area to basically forget about your daily stresses. Needless to say we loved it. Saturday night we went to dinner and got a table right outside along the river which was great. Afterwards we headed over to the "Majestic" theater to see the broadway show Rent. The theater was gorgeous, the inside looked like this. Sunday we ended up spending the majority of the day shopping at two massive outlet malls just north of San Antonio. So now... it's off to bed, and probably one of the best nights rest we have had in a while. Click here to see pictures of our trip.
02/25/07: Spring has sprung... in Houston anyway
It has been about 3 days straight of unbelievably gorgeous weather here in Houston. About 80 and sunny out today so we took advantage of it and washed our disgustingly dirty vehicles. Our new neighbor Jimmy even came out to join in on the car wash bonanza. We have quite a bit in common with him and his fiancee, almost to the point it is scary. He is 28 and she is 25, which is similar to Dana and myself, and they were engaged recently. So needless to say we are excited to have another couple of friends in the area. Other then that we hung up a few more paintings/mirrors. Also picked up a new painting for the living room this morning (pic below).
So I have to celebrate my birthday this friday apparently. I dont have a choice in it according to my family and Dana. We decided we are going to catch a flight to California for the weekend, and we are still planning what we will be doing once we get there. Either way it will be a nice getaway. Then we are looking forward to a trip to the Grand Canyon with Jason and Sara sometime in April maybe. Other then that the wedding plans are keeping us busy, and keeping us excited about the big day.
02/20/07: Fourscore..or so it seems
As usual, we have been a busy couple here in Pearland Tx. We just completed painting the living room and couldn't be happier with the outcome (see image below). I am still working on the lawn, between fertilizing it and threatening to cut it with our new lawn mower.. It's not quite filled in yet so I have to hold off on doing too much more to it. Dana made a flight home a little over a week ago to try on wedding dresses and found "the one" as it has been put. It brought her mom, my mom, and her friend Jenn to tears when she tried it on. Naturally I haven't seen it yet, but I can't wait! This week is a fun filled week of Citrix administration training gor myself, Gohar, and James... which is just as thrilling as it sounds. I have to admit it is going to help us 100% as managers, but it is a bit of a drag once 1pm hits. For now I am off to watch some American Idol with my beautiful fiancée. Speaking of which, I bought my wedding ring and it is kickass... Dana agrees. Love y'all...Bye for now.
02/04/07: Go Colts!
Happy Superbowl Sunday! Here are some pictures of us being busy bee's this weekend. We're off to a party at Kari and Andrew's place to watch the game.
02/03/06: Painting
Yes we have been in this brand spankin' new house for no more then a week, and we are painting rooms! Well, it technically has been planned by Miss Dana for a while in regards to colors and all, but this weekend it all starts to come together. We have our new coffee table, end table, pillows and paintings, and figured before the dining room table and china cabinet get here we should paint. No point in filling a room just to empty it out again right?
So off I go, probably to Home Depot for the umpteenth time this week but I have to admit... that store is amazing. It's like my new toy store where I have to prevent wandering eyes because I am bound to find something I didn't go in for, but suddenly want. Hopefully I will have pictures up soon, I know that is much more exciting then reading my aimless babble. Love y'all!
01/18/06: Life is happening
We have soo much going on around us! From planning the wedding (Photographers, Cake, Dresses, Venue, flowers, church, invites...etc.) to closing on the new house (a list I won't even begin to lay out). We are both so excited about everything going on around us and are extremely lucky to have parents back home who put so much time and effort into helping out with all of this. Next Friday is our closing date and we get the keys then move in Saturday! I would post pictures of the 97% finished product but that will have to wait until we are moved in because Mom and Dad Razzano will be coming down next week and viewing it in person is so much better. Now all they have left is landscaping and a bit more cleaning up and it is finished. So far we couldn't be happier with what we are getting. I will try to update soon but no promises... for obvious reasons.
12/31/06: Miss you already!
Well we just got back into Houston TX after a great Christmas at home in NY. So much to cover and so little time, so I will let the pictures do most of the talking. But there were 2 very notable items which cannot go without saying.
1) Christmas eve night, the Razzano's decided they would open one gift each, which turned into a few more then one but who was counting. When it came time for Ed and Donna to open their gift from Rob and Caroline, they pulled out a small piece of paper from a small decorative box. On the outside it said "This certificate entitles you to one trip to Cinncinati in August 2007". Not sure what for , Ed guessed it was to see Kenny Chesney in concert (being that Donna is a big fan and all). When Donna opened up the folded paper she went crazy jumping and screaming. Everyone was amazed that she would go so nuts over Kenny tickets. One by one the family opened the card and had similar reactions... turns out it wasn't Kenny at all, the inside said "To visit your first grandchild!"
2) The big news didn't stop there. Christmas night my parents went over to the Razzano's house for a great Christmas feast. After opening gifts, and finishing eating, I called Dana into the other room to show her some pictures from the day before. When we walked back out into the dining room all the lights were out and everyone was holding a candle. Dana certainly didn't know what was going on, but I did. I turned to her and said a few words I had prepared, and asked her to marry me!!! But most importantly... she said yes!!!! Here is a picture of the freshly engaged Miss Dana displaying her new jewelry.
So all that being said, I have some unpacking to get done. Here are ALL the pictures from our trip home. From Christmas gifts and parties, to exploring reception halls. Thanks again to everyone for everything, it was one heck of a memorable Christmas, and we are looking forward to seeing everyone again soon.
12/16/06: One week and it's officially the season!
I say that because lately it has seemed more like mid-august here in Houston with 80 degree highs causing us to ride around listening to Christmas music with the air conditioner on. Either way we will be home in a week, where hopefully it will be a bit more seasonal for the holiday. Until then we will be keeping busy with whatever we can find in the area. Last week we went to the Houston Pops for their Christmas show downtown which was great. We tried heading to Kemah Boardwalk for the Lighted Boat Parade but everybody else in Texas planned on going that same night, which caused us to just divert and head out for dinner. Tomorrow night is my companys Christmas party which should be a great time, and best of all they gave me a half day on monday and friday this week.
Naturally, our obsession with the building of our house continues. We took another trip over and figured I would share a few of the pictures. Click here to view them! It is going to be a busy week so probably no posts other then this one. Hope you all have a great holiday.
12/03/06: "Turn your glasses upside down!"
Ahh yes the holiday season is in full swing. The Christmas music filling the air, the lights going up on the house, and the one finger salute flying all throughout town. Sure, people get stressed due to the hussle and bussle but Dana and I have been able to get most of the shopping and trip planning out of the way early so we can enjoy ourselves. We actually had our first Sushi experience on Friday night at a place called Miyako downtown. Well, I had sushi, Dana played it safe with chicken. It was suprisingly, very very good. They seat you traditionally on the floor, kinda, and have you take your shoes off and everything. Brack and I ordered a pitcher of hot saki which is kinda like rubbing alcohol. Overall a great night.
Saturday night we headed to Moody Gardens in Galveston TX for the Festival of Lights and a 3d Imax showing of The Polar Express. Here is a link to a bunch of pictures from the Lights. The movie was great, between the huge Imax screen and the sound system they had in that place it felt like you were there. The only thing was that the 3d wasn't as good as we had expected. Watching most of the movie thru one eye worked best because it was so blurry at times thru the glasses. BUT with 10 minutes left in the movie, someone in front yelled "Turn your glasses upside down!". I figured I would give it a shot and upon doing so was amazed at what the real 3d looked like. it was a whole other world, and apparently someone had put the lenses in upside down. Either way it was fun, and next time we know what to do if the quality of the movie stinks. 3 weeks till we go home to NY!!!! Can't wait to see you all!
11/24/06: Leftovers!
Yesssss. Pounds and Pounds of leftovers for me to consume in mass quantities! Yes, if you haven't heard Dana and I tested the cullinary waters this Thanksgiving, and the outcome was quite superb. Regardless of the 80 degree weather outside, it felt like the holidays. We missed having everyone around of course, but are looking forward to our gathering next month for Christmas! We do have some pictures from Thanksgiving to share though.
And following the theme lately, we went and took some more pictures of the progress on the house. It is in it's rough draft stages, but soon enough the fine tuning, and we will start seeing more of the customizations we requested. Here are the pictures.
11/18/06: Sleepless in Houston
Yes, this is my On Call week for Continental Airlines. Go figure, I get it during the busiest travel week of the year which means when "it" hits the fan, it gets well distributed. Friday night/Saturday morning was hell due to a corrupt table in a database. Needless to say sleep was not something on my agenda. Oh well, by the end of this week I will be off call again and continue receiving that lovely paycheck :)
We have been keeping busy here between Christmas shopping, NBA games, work, and spending as much time as we can in the gym. We stopped by the house on our way back from lunch in Rice Village today and I was able to get this picture with my phone. It's coming together nicely, and soon all the walls will be up.
11/08/06: Contests abound
In protest of the high prices of razors these days, Myself, Rob and I believe James will be boycotting the use of them until Dec 17th. Why that day? Your guess is as good as mine... but either way I am scared to see the outcome. So far so good, Dana says the scruffy look suits me, looks "sexy" and even adds a year or 2 making me look less pre-pubescent. It has become a bit of a contest between us guys to see who can make it the longest... I already predict that I will be the first loser, so don't bet on me. Another contest going on just between Rob and James could turn out to be hilarious. Basically, the 2 of them will get pictures of themselves in Speedos, then both try to lose weight... in the end the one who loses the least has to post their picture up on myspace. Honestly, in the end, whoever falls into viewing the Speedo picture is the loser in my mind...
Otherwise, we have a meeting tomorrow with the builder the double check the electrical and structure so far at the house, then Friday we have tickets to the Rockets vs Knicks game! Both teams may suck lately, but when you put 2 terrible teams up against one another, you get a great game.
11/05/06: Progress!
So the house has been coming along quite quickly lately. It's amazing how much work they can get done when Houston isn't flooding. Here are a bunch of pictures from our visit today.
Oh, and this just in. Everyone who thought Bailey was just Wonderwoman for Halloween, guess again. I just came across these images on internet news sites:
10/30/06: Hi folks
Ahh yes halloween. A time when kids become whatever their hearts desire... limited only by imagination and moms inability to sew properly. Luckily my Mom had skills, otherwise even I would have doubted my true identity as Superman. Halloween is also a good time to sell your stock in hookers because nobody can tell which ones are real, and which ones are just underage girls expressing thier deep rooted desire/lack of attention by dressing like french maids or something similarly lacking in cloth...
In celebration, Dana and I carved our pumpkin. We decided to go a bit untraditional this year, steering away from the typical spooky face pumpking, and make it more of a spooky image. Needless to say we had a good time doing it.
Besides carving a pumpkin this past weekend, we went over to the Houston Home and Garden show on Saturday to learn a bit more about home owning. In the end it was a bunch of advertising and people trying to get you to sign up to win a free lawn gnome, but we did find some things that interested us. Dana ended up picking up a really nice necklace from a jeweler, and I bought some Chipotle hot sauce which I will proceed to put on everything including ice-cream. Overall it was a good day and it got us outside in the 85 degree weather.
Speaking of hot days, Brack and I took off to Galveston on Sunday to do some wade fishing in the bays. I have never been wade fishing but it is quite the experience when you have bait fish jumping all around you, but you cant see what it is they are running from. At times the water came up above my belly button but never over the chest waders. I only took one picture with my cell phone being that we were walking around in the middle of the ocean, but it turned out quite well if I do say so myself.

10/18/06: 1000 pictures say 1000000 words
We are still alive for those who were wondering, I've just been too busy to do much with the website to be honest. So here we go, clean slate, TONS of pictures, and a night off from everything.
Work has been going well. I have the hang of things and have my confidence back with just about whatever it is I am doing. My fellow employees are a good group, and I can foresee a lot of good times here in Houston with them. I have created more .net/vb/sql linked aspx sites then I can even remember but it is nice to feel utilized and appreciated.
In interest of causing marked drowsiness, I'm going to get right to putting up some recent pictures in order of occurrence. The first group are from the trip back to NY 3 weekends ago where we did some apple picking like all good upstate new yorkers do.
Sorry about the format of that picture page, I wanted to try something different and it turned out all wrong.
Next up, Dana's Mom came into town two weekends ago here in Houston and I honestly don't have many pictures from her visit mostly because 90% of it was spent in a mall. We went to the Katy Mills outlets, and to the Galleria mall here and some others in between. I was shopped out but those girls have something in them that just makes them keep going.
Last but not least, this past weekend my Mom and Dad, and Jason and Sara flew into Houston to go see the Blue Man group then to see a Texas rodeo on Saturday night. The weekend flew by but it was great to see everyone again. I do have some pictures of it, but most from the rodeo didn't come out well. We will have to wait for Jason's for the good ones!
Well that's it for now. We are off for a bit so I'll wrap this up. Sorry about the downtime but hopefully it's been made up for now!
